Pirelli declares that Shanghai is feeling strange as Formula 1 makes its return.

Charles Leclerc from Monaco will be driving the Ferrari SF90 in the next race of the Formula 1 World Championship in Shanghai, China. The Chief Formula 1 Engineer at Pirelli, Simone Berra, expressed his belief that the Shanghai International Circuit will feel like a new track due to the changes made in the sport during its absence from the calendar. These changes include ground effect aerodynamics, new tires, 18-inch wheels, and an altered track surface. Berra mentioned that the track has not been used much in the last five years and will likely be green and dirty. Teams will face a big challenge in understanding the track and its changes. Additionally, the location of the circuit in a marsh presents another issue of bumps and ground movement, which the engineering team has been working on. Teams and drivers will have to adapt quickly as they have little time for practice before the Sprint qualifying on Friday. This additional complication, along with the uncertainties of the track, will make the race exciting for F1 fans.
