Pierre Gasly completed his first season with Alpine in Formula 1 this year. It was a 2023 of ups and downs, adaptation, and even had a podium, but the driver feels that not all existing capabilities were reached.
Quoted by L’Equipe, the Frenchman stated: ‘We are coming out of a season that was tough for everyone. There are clearly things to improve. There is potential that I can notice, but it was not well explored this year. We need to return to a better position for the next season’.
Despite being new to Alpine, Gasly still managed to finish one place above teammate Esteban Ocon, with four more points than #31. Both reached the podium once, confirming the inconsistency in performance of the A523. Alpine finished sixth in the Constructors’ Championship, far from at least repeating last year’s fourth place.
