Alpine’s Pierre Gasly had fans in stitches after joking about the extended Q3 delay during Las Vegas Grand Prix qualifying. “I was starting to get cold in the car,” the Frenchman quipped, referencing the unusually chilly temperatures under the desert city’s neon lights.

Patience Pays Off for Gasly

The delay, caused by repairs to the barriers following Franco Colapinto’s heavy crash, tested the drivers’ focus. For Gasly, it was all about keeping his head in the game.

“We had to wait so long for this Q3; I just wanted to get started,” he said. “And yes, we had a good first attempt, but the last lap was the one that counted, with a new tire.”

Gasly delivered an impressive performance on his final lap, securing a P3 starting position behind Mercedes’ George Russell and Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz. His confidence in the car was evident as he reflected on his session.

“I really managed to do it. The car was handling really well.”

Alpine’s Momentum Builds

Gasly’s strong qualifying effort comes hot on the heels of Alpine’s double podium in Brazil, marking a resurgence for the French team in the latter stages of the season. Gasly acknowledged the importance of maintaining momentum.

“I have to say it’s an incredible time for the team after the double podium in Brazil. Hopefully, we can stay in the race tomorrow.”

Eyes on the Podium

Gasly will start Sunday’s race in a prime position to challenge for another top-three finish. With Alpine’s form on the rise and Gasly’s confidence at an all-time high, the team will be looking to cap off the weekend with a strong result.

As the lights go out for the Las Vegas GP, Gasly and Alpine are ready to shine in the desert night. Fans can expect the Frenchman to push hard to keep up with the frontrunners, aiming to deliver another stellar performance for the Enstone squad.
