We didn’t make the necessary progress to compete for a spot in SQ3. Ultimately, we lacked pace, and we need to understand why,” he stated, acknowledging the vast gap between his performance and Gasly’s stellar outing. “It was great to see Pierre being fast and doing an excellent job, which is fantastic for the team that has been working hard. It shows the car still has potential. I just need to figure out how to extract that and where we can improve. We’ll try to learn as much as possible in tomorrow’s Sprint race and see if we can recover some positions while applying what we learned today.”
