Peugeot was the best-selling brand in Portugal in 2023.

Peugeot closed the year 2023 as the leading brand in new car sales in Portugal, for the third consecutive year. According to data from ACAP, the French brand ended 2023 with 25,815 units sold (Passenger Vehicles + Light Commercial Vehicles) and a market share of 11.3%.

Among the models, the Peugeot 2008 once again became the preferred car of the Portuguese in 2023. In addition to naturally being the leader in the B segment, it was also the best-selling SUV, with 6,760 units sold. The 308 SW stood out as the best-selling station wagon, with 2,187 units and a market share of over 22.5% among mid-size wagons.

In the Light Commercial Vehicles market, the French brand also finished the year in the lead, with 5,117 units and a market share of 17.9%, with the Peugeot Partner, a model produced in Mangualde, being the best-selling van with 4,433 units, which represents a market share of over 15.5% of the entire LCV market.

“We are extremely proud to see Peugeot elected as the preferred brand of the Portuguese for the 3rd consecutive year, thanks to a complete offering in Passenger Vehicles and Light Commercial Vehicles, which allowed us to end the year 2023 at the top of the sales charts in both markets,” highlighted João Mendes, Director of Peugeot Portugal and Spain.
