“Peugeot strengthens its leadership in the automotive market in September.”

The national automotive market grew by 6.1% in September, with 18,954 new vehicles registered, and Peugeot maintained its market leadership.

According to data from the Portuguese Automobile Association ( ACAP ), Peugeot was the best-selling brand in the passenger car sales chart with 1,496 units registered, representing a 7.8% increase compared to September 2023. Overall, from January to September, the French brand remained at the top of the sales chart with 15,858 units sold.

Mercedes-Benz, with 1,357 units sold in the ninth month of the year, recorded a decline of 12.4% compared to the same month last year, securing the second position. However, the Star brand has sold 12,520 units in the three quarters, representing a growth of 16.8% compared to the same period in 2023.

Dacia took the third position in the passenger car sales chart in September with 1,296 units, marking a decline of 12.1% compared to the same month in 2023.

In total, from January to September, Dacia sold 12,008 units, an increase of 8.3% compared to last year.

The 10 best-selling brands in Portugal in September 2024 (passenger cars):

1st Peugeot – 1496 units

2nd Mercedes-Benz – 1357 units

3rd Dacia – 1296 units

4th BMW – 1086 units

5th Tesla – 1025 units

6th Renault – 995 units

7th VW – 828 units

8th Toyota – 817 units

9th Hyundai – 562 units

10th Nissan – 514 units
