The Peugeot announced the opening of the ordering period for the new E-308 SW, the unprecedented 100% electric variant of the best-selling station wagon in Portugal, and an essential pillar of the French brand’s electric offensive, which will hit the market at the end of 2023.
The new variant will expand the range of the 308, which already has thermal and plug-in hybrid versions, and now adds a purely electric powertrain, developing 156 hp of power and 260 Nm of maximum torque.
The electric motor is powered by a new 54 kWh battery, with a new chemical composition resulting in a final formula of 80% Nickel, 10% Manganese, and 10% Cobalt, operating at 400 Volts and allowing the new E-308 SW to offer, depending on the equipment level, a range of over 400 km, according to the WLTP protocol.
The onboard three-phase charger is available as standard and has a power of 11 kW. The charging socket accepts all charging modes. Using a 100 kW public charging station, Peugeot announces that it is possible to go from 20% to 80% state of charge in less than 25 minutes.
Based on the multi-energy EMP2 platform, the new Peugeot E-308 SW fully embodies the DNA of the French brand, with an elongated hood that highlights its dynamic silhouette. At the front, the LED Matrix headlights are framed by a saber-shaped light signature.
In profile, the new E-308 SW stands out with new 18-inch alloy wheels, specially developed and optimized from an aerodynamic point of view for the 100% electric version.
The rear projection of the E-308 SW is 21 centimeters longer than that of the E-308, resulting in a perfectly balanced rear section with a bumper that reflects the new design and a practical and larger trunk than the sedan variant.
The national range of the new Peugeot E-308 SW is divided into two equipment levels: Allure, which has a starting price of €46,125 and is equipped with Active Safety Brake (night and pedestrian); Reverse camera; Air Quality System; Black front grille with chrome accents and black air intakes; Automatic high beam switching; Glossy Black window trim; Connected navigation with 10” touchscreen and virtual and customizable i-Toggles screen; TEP/Fabric “Falgo” upholstery; Darkened side windows and rear window.
The GT variant, starting at €48,525, adds to the previous level hands-free access and connection; adaptive cruise control; front parking assist; long-range blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert; specific Black front grille with varnish, chrome accents, and Gloss Black air intakes; aluminum decoration on door panels; Driver Sport Pack; front bumper extensions and lower body side extensions; aluminum “sport” pedals and footrest; Matrix LED Technology headlights; tri-material TEP / Alcantara® / New Belomka fabric upholstery; ambient lighting (8 colors).
