Perez acredita que seu carro de F1 foi afetado por excursão na brita em Imola.

Sergio Perez, from Mexico, racing for Red Bull Racing, had a tough moment during the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix in Formula 1. He believes his chances of making a recovery were hampered when he suffered damage after running over a gravel trap. Unlike his teammate Max Verstappen, Perez was unable to recover from the struggles in Red Bull’s training and was eliminated in Q2.

At the start of the race, Perez managed to gain a position, moving up to 10th place ahead of Daniel Ricciardo. He planned to have a longer first stint with the hard compound tires. However, he struggled to make progress in the early stages, allowing his competitors to overtake him after their pit stops.

Perez’s prospects were further damaged when he went off track and into the gravel trap at Rivazza 1 on lap 18. He believes this incident caused damage to his car and cost him around six to seven seconds. As a result, he found himself under pressure from the drivers behind him.

Despite the challenges he faced, Perez believes his performance in this race was the best he could have achieved given the circumstances. He took a risk with his strategy, hoping for a Safety Car period that would benefit him. However, he acknowledges that going off track was a mistake that compromised his race.

Perez is confident that his tough outing in this race is not indicative of his overall performance. He believes it was an isolated incident and hopes to bounce back in the next race in Monaco.

The Red Bull team principal, Christian Horner, defended Perez against criticisms and stated that his simulations predicted an optimal potential 7th place for him. He acknowledged that Perez lost time due to his gravel trap excursion, but believes he maximized his performance from his starting position.

Overall, Perez’s performance at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was challenging, but he remains optimistic about his upcoming races and is determined to return to the front of the pack.
