Perez antecipa que será mais difícil seguir os carros de F1 em 2024.

The Mexican driver Sergio Perez, from Red Bull Racing, expressed his belief that it will be more challenging to follow other cars in Formula 1 in the year 2024. He fears that this difficulty could hinder his efforts to improve his position after finishing fifth in the Bahrain Grand Prix. Despite being only 0.358 seconds behind his teammate Max Verstappen, Perez could only secure a place on the third row during the intense qualifying session. He admits that a mistake at Turn 1 cost him the opportunity to start alongside Verstappen, with Charles Leclerc from Ferrari securing second position. Perez also feels that his chances in the third qualifying session were compromised when he used an extra set of tires as a precaution against possible elimination in the second phase. However, Perez remains positive about his performance in a single lap and is confident that the race pace of the Red Bull will be even stronger. He believes that there is great potential and progress being made, especially when running the car with less fuel. Perez is disappointed that he was unable to show this progress in qualifying but is hopeful for a better result in the race. Red Bull’s decision to choose an additional set of soft compound tires compared to their competitors may provide a strategic advantage during the race. Despite this, Perez is cautious about his chances of reaching the podium due to the increased difficulty of following other cars caused by the latest ground effect cars. He is looking forward to facing the challenges of racing alongside other cars during the next race.
