Perez admite que a saída de Verstappen da Red Bull F1 seria um revés.

In a possible blow to the Red Bull team, Sergio Perez acknowledged that if Max Verstappen were to leave Formula 1, it would have a negative impact. Rumors have emerged linking Verstappen to a move to Mercedes, as he has secured 36 victories in the last 47 races since the reintroduction of ground effect cars in 2022. Despite his success, it is speculated that Verstappen may seek an exit due to tensions within the team following an investigation into Christian Horner. Although Horner was cleared of any wrongdoing, Verstappen’s father, Jos, suggested that Horner’s position may now be untenable. Verstappen has expressed the importance of Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko in his decision to stay with the team. Reports suggest that Verstappen’s contract includes a clause that would allow him to leave under certain conditions. Perez, on the other hand, does not have a similar clause in his contract, which expires at the end of 2024. Perez believes it is best to ask Verstappen about the details of his contract and states that he is fully committed to the team. Mercedes boss Toto Wolff has publicly expressed interest in hiring Verstappen as Lewis Hamilton’s replacement in 2025. Perez acknowledges that if Verstappen leaves, it would pose a challenge for Red Bull. However, Horner has stated that the team is not concerned about Wolff’s pursuit of Verstappen, as Verstappen’s current contract runs until the end of 2028.
