Pepe Martí’s shocking phone call from medical car after terrifying Formula E crash

Title: Pepe Martí’s Heart-Stopping Formula E Crash: The Hair-Raising Moment He Reassured His Family!

In a moment that sent shockwaves through the motorsport community, rookie driver Pepe Martí faced a terrifying airborne crash during his Formula E debut in São Paulo last month. The young Spaniard’s harrowing brush with fate unfolded when he collided with fellow competitors Nico Müller and António Félix da Costa, who unexpectedly slowed down as a full-course yellow was called. What happened next was nothing short of a nightmare—Martí’s car soared into the air, flipping and twisting before crashing onto the track, a scene reminiscent of high-octane action films.

Miraculously, Pepe managed to escape the wreckage, even as flames briefly engulfed his mangled Cupra Kiro. His immediate concern? Not his own safety—but reassuring his family back home in Spain. In a remarkable twist, Martí utilized a phone located in the FIA medical car to connect with his loved ones, delivering the crucial message that he was indeed okay.

Reflecting on the incident, Martí shared insights into his surreal experience while strapped into the cockpit. “From the inside, I didn’t think it was that spectacular or that big, to be fair,” he recounted, highlighting the rapidity of the crash. “Because it happened so quickly, and then obviously, from the moment I hit Nico and Antonio, my hands were off the wheel, and you’re just hoping that nothing happens to you.”

His priority upon escaping the carnage was clear: getting out of the car to show he was unharmed. “The main thing is that if you’re out of the car, you look like you’re okay, and that’s the first message I wanted to send to my family and to everyone else,” he stated.

With a mix of adrenaline and relief, Martí then made the pivotal decision to reach out to his family. “I got into the medical car, and there was a phone lying there. I said, ‘Can I call my family?’ I spoke with my family back in Spain and let them know I was fine, because, in the end, they were watching the race and didn’t know exactly what was going on.”

As the dust settles from this hair-raising episode, the motorsport world holds its breath for Martí’s next moves as he prepares for the upcoming race in Mexico City. The sheer courage displayed by this young driver not only reaffirms the unpredictable nature of racing but also the importance of family support in high-stakes situations. One thing is clear: Pepe Martí is not just a name to watch—he’s a testament to resilience in the face of danger!
