Tire Trouble Strikes Team Penske: Drama Unfolds at Kansas Cup Practice!
In a shocking turn of events at Kansas Speedway, Team Penske found themselves grappling with tire issues that sent shockwaves through the NASCAR Cup practice session. Logano reported a flat right-rear tire that compromised his racecar’s performance. Fortunately, he managed to slow down on the front stretch, narrowly avoiding disaster. “I felt it starting to feel funky through (Turns) 3 and 4 there,” Logano explained. “Just didn’t feel right, so I lifted off the corner. Glad I caught it there. Overall, we should be okay. We’ll put on four tires, make some adjustments, cross our fingers and hope she runs good.”
Adding to the team’s woes, Austin Cindric, the third Penske driver, opted to withdraw from the practice session entirely as a precaution. Cindric currently finds himself 19 points below the playoff cut line, while Logano sits comfortably 24 points above it. “Bit of a concerning session in a lot of ways as a team, but this place is pretty crazy for that,” Cindric remarked, reflecting the challenges the team faces as they prepare for the crucial race ahead.
