The Italian pilot Francesco “Pecco” Bagnaia (Ducati) became, this Sunday, the MotoGP World Champion for the second time. But the title in the queen category of two wheels is accompanied by a four-wheel trophy: a BMW XM Label Red with 748 hp, the most powerful production vehicle in the German brand.
This is because BMW M maintains its partnership with MotoGP as the official supplier of Safety Cars for the competition, and every year awards the BMW M Award, a prize for the pilot who achieves the highest score in the qualifications throughout the season. The Italian from Ducati, with seven pole positions and eight front rows obtained this season, ended up winning this “competition within the competition” as well, totaling 369 points, 92 points more than his closest rival, the Spanish Jorge Martín.
