Pascal Wehrlein Snatches Thrilling Victory in Miami E-Prix Amid Post-Race Chaos

Pascal Wehrlein Stuns Crowd with Controversial Victory in Miami E-Prix Showdown

In a breathtaking turn of events, Pascal Wehrlein emerged as the victor of the 2025 Miami E-Prix amidst a whirlwind of chaos, drama, and post-race penalties, leaving fans on the edge of their seats at the Homestead Miami Speedway.

The thrilling race saw Porsche’s Wehrlein initially finish second on the track, only to be catapulted to the top of the podium after a series of penalties reshaped the final standings. The pole-sitter, Norman Nato, seemed poised for his maiden win with Nissan until a late Red Flag disrupted the race, leading to penalties for multiple drivers including Nato, paving the way for Wehrlein’s triumph.

Wehrlein’s strategic driving, shadowing teammate Antonio Felix da Costa before executing a decisive maneuver with the power boost, showcased his skill and determination on the track.

Not to be outdone, Lucas di Grassi made history with a remarkable second-place finish for Lola Yamaha ABT, securing the team’s first podium in the new Formula E era. The Brazilian driver navigated the race’s challenges expertly, capitalizing on key opportunities during a frenzied dash to the finish line.

Meanwhile, da Costa clinched the final spot on the podium for Porsche, despite the untimely Red Flag hampering his chances of maximizing his performance in the closing stages of the race.

A standout performance came from Nico Mueller, who delivered a stellar drive from 18th on the grid to an impressive fourth place for Andretti. Edoardo Mortara continued to shine for Mahindra, claiming fifth position ahead of the penalized Nato, who slipped to sixth after leading for much of the race.

Further down the rankings, Dan Ticktum secured valuable points for Cupra Kiro in seventh place, followed by Robin Frijns, Jake Dennis, and Oliver Rowland rounding up the top 10.

Wehrlein’s triumph in Miami propels him to third place in the championship standings, trailing da Costa and Rowland. Porsche’s stellar performance sees them leading the Teams’ Championship with 105 points, ahead of Nissan with 79 points.

Although Nissan maintains the lead in the Manufacturers’ Championship with 144 points to Porsche’s 120, the competition remains fierce as the season unfolds.

As the dust settles in Miami, all eyes now turn to the upcoming showdown on the iconic streets of Monaco, where Formula E is set to make history with its first-ever double-header weekend in the Principality on May 3-4.

The Miami E-Prix delivered a spectacle for motorsport enthusiasts worldwide, setting the stage for an electrifying season filled with unpredictable twists and fierce competition as the drivers and teams gear up for the challenges that lie ahead.
