The Indiana Pacers are gearing up for a tough matchup against the New York Knicks, and there’s one big question on everyone’s mind: Will Tyrese Haliburton be playing? The star point guard has been dealing with a left hamstring strain injury, and his status for Thursday night’s game is still up in the air.

Haliburton initially suffered the injury on January 8 against the Boston Celtics. He missed five games before making his return against the Portland Trail Blazers on January 19. However, his comeback was short-lived, as he was forced to leave the game early in the fourth quarter due to concerns about his injury.

The Pacers have been cautious with Haliburton’s recovery, and his availability for the game against the Knicks could come down to the wire. With a game against the Sacramento Kings scheduled for the following day, it wouldn’t be surprising if Haliburton is ruled out for the Knicks matchup.

If Haliburton is unable to play, the Pacers will rely on T.J. McConnell and Andrew Nembhard to step up in the backcourt. McConnell has been a solid contributor in Haliburton’s absence, averaging 11.0 points, 7.3 assists, and 2.8 rebounds in the 12 games he has missed this season. Pascal Siakam will also take on a larger role in handling the ball and facilitating the offense.

On the other side, the Knicks will be missing one of their key players, Julius Randle, who recently suffered a dislocated right shoulder. There is no timetable for his return. OG Anunoby is also questionable for the game with a right elbow injury.

So, as of now, the question of whether Tyrese Haliburton will be playing against the Knicks remains unanswered. Fans will have to wait and see if he’s able to take the court and contribute to the Pacers’ playoff aspirations.
