Formula 1 drivers take New York by storm at ‘F1’ movie premiere
The fast-paced world of Formula 1 collided with the glamour of Hollywood at the world premiere of the ‘F1’ movie in New York City. Following the Canadian Grand Prix, 15 out of the 20 drivers rushed to attend the star-studded event at Radio City Music Hall. Despite their hectic schedules, the drivers managed to swap their race suits for red carpet attire in no time, joining celebrities like Suni Lee, Lindsey Vonn, and John Mayer.
However, some notable absences were felt, with rising star Kimi Antonelli missing out on the festivities to focus on his final school exams in Italy. Championship leader Oscar Piastri had prior commitments with McLaren, while Max Verstappen chose to spend time with his newborn daughter before hitting the track again. Aston Martin drivers Lance Stroll and Fernando Alonso also opted to skip the premiere.
Although the event was a glitzy affair, none of the drivers actually watched the movie in New York, having already viewed it at a private screening in Monaco. The film, which features a nod to Max Verstappen on the team radio, left some drivers like Verstappen and Stroll eager to catch a full viewing soon.
Following the red carpet extravaganza, the drivers and celebrities posed for photos at Top of the Rock, with Lewis Hamilton stealing the show at Radio City in a stylish Dior ensemble, complete with a dazzling diamond and ruby-encrusted goat brooch. F1 personalities such as Will Buxton, David Croft, and Martin Brundle mingled with fans before continuing the celebrations at the exclusive after-party at Cipriani.
The ‘F1’ movie premiere in New York was a night to remember, blending the thrill of racing with the glitz and glamor of the movie industry in the heart of the Big Apple.
