Opel has revealed the first images of the new concept car that it will present, making its world debut, in September at the Munich Motor Show (IAA Mobility).
Although it has not revealed the name of the prototype, the images already show a clear connection to Opel’s GSE sub-brand, while also anticipating the next evolutionary step of the Opel Compass.
“Our next concept car will, once again, quicken the pulse. It will anticipate the next models, impress with its stunning design, and attract car enthusiasts around the world. We will reveal more details soon – so stay tuned,” said Florian Huettl, CEO of Opel.
The Rüsselsheim brand published a small selection of images, each showcasing unique elements of the latest creation from the design team led by Vice President of Design, Mark Adams.
One of the most striking features revealed by the images is the development of the Opel Compass. The illuminated Opel brand sits at the center and is framed by thin, precise vertical and horizontal elements.
Furthermore, other details show that the concept car will be in line with the latest models from the GSE sub-brand, such as the inclusion of the new GSE logo on the slim steering wheel inspired by racing cars, indicating that the brand will explore the limits of 100% electric vehicles with the concept.
The references to motorsport and performance continue with the driver’s seat featuring a lightweight, futuristic, and minimalist design, and the clearly visible protective structure: both indicate that the prototype promises to offer an exciting yet comfortable and safe driving experience.
