Gama de comerciais ligeiros da Opel recebe reforço de sistemas de ajuda à condução

The Opel announced that the new generation of commercial vehicles from the brand now has a wide range of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS).

Among the new systems is the Dynamic Surround Vision, which combines two cameras – one located above the rear doors and another below the passenger side exterior mirror – with a high-definition rearview mirror.

The two images (from the area behind the vehicle and – when activated by the turn signal – from the blind spot) are displayed in the rearview mirror.

This way, the drivers of the new Opel Combo and Vivaro can maneuver and make turns with greater safety and significantly reduced risk of not seeing other vehicles, cyclists, or pedestrians.

In addition, Adaptive Cruise Control is also one of the 21 ADAS devices available in the new Opel Movano. Its combination with Lane Keeping Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, and electric power steering allows the driver to benefit from level 2 autonomous driving advantages.

Level 2 autonomous driving means that the vehicle can brake, accelerate, and steer itself at speeds up to 30 km/h – as long as the driver’s hands remain on the steering wheel. Therefore, the driver does not need to activate the accelerator or brakes during slow traffic, always staying alert and ready to take control when necessary.

In addition, the Drowsiness Alert helps the driver to always stay attentive. The system available in the Movano warns the driver to take a break after long periods behind the wheel.

The comprehensive list of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems in the new Movano is completed by additional equipment such as Traffic Sign Recognition, Frontal Collision Warning with Emergency Braking, and Parking Assistant.
