Chinese electric vehicle company Nio has reinforced its commitment to electric mobility with the launch of the new brand, Onvo, aiming to boost sales by offering more affordable vehicles.
The Onvo brand, more focused on families, has now revealed its first model, the L60, a coupe SUV, which is set to hit the Chinese market next September at a price that promises to be cheaper than the Tesla Model Y.
It is already known that the L60 will come with batteries in three power levels, 60, 90, and 150 kWh, the latter being the same as used in the ET7. According to Nio, the 900V configuration will allow for offering a model with the lowest energy consumption in the world.
Furthermore, the L60 model will be able to use Nio’s network of battery swapping stations which has over 1000 stations in China and is now starting to expand to some European countries.
The new Nio brand is not only intended for the Chinese market, as the brand’s electric mobility strategy also includes Europe, where the L60 is expected to arrive in some European markets in the near future.
