The renewed Toyota GR Yaris will arrive in the national market in the summer and can already be reserved on a dedicated portal for this purpose in Portugal, which has already registered the reservation of 10 units of the small sports car from the Japanese brand.
The model that comes with more power is available in two colors and two transmission options, an intelligent six-speed manual or the new eight-speed automatic gearbox with paddles on the steering wheel and torque converter, from ZF.
It is already known that the renewed “pocket rocket” from Toyota is equipped with a turbocharged 1.6-liter three-cylinder engine, which has been enhanced by GAZOO Racing engineers, delivering 19 more horsepower than its predecessor, 280 hp available at 6500 rpm, and 30 Nm more of maximum torque, that is, 390 Nm at 3250 rpm. This increase in power is contributed by a new engine tuning, a reinforced valve system, a new material for the exhaust valve, an increase in D-4ST fuel injection pressure, as well as new lightweight pistons with wear-resistant rings and a new intake pressure sensor.
Toyota has already announced that the updated GR Yaris has a starting price of €59,823 for the version equipped with a manual gearbox, while the variant with an automatic gearbox starts at €66,823.
