Oliver Bearman Shatters Expectations with Surprising Confidence Surge After Haas F1 Upgrade!

In a stunning revelation that has sent shockwaves through the Formula 1 community, Oliver Bearman has expressed absolute astonishment at the transformative impact of Haas’ recent upgrades at Silverstone. The young British driver describes his newfound confidence as “crazy,” a sentiment that reflects the seismic shift in his performance as the season progresses.

Bearman, who initially faced a tumultuous start to the 2025 season—including a disheartening crash during FP1 in Melbourne that saw him qualifying dead last—has made a remarkable recovery. Following a series of resilient performances in China, Japan, and Bahrain, Bearman found himself in a grueling seven-race points drought before the British Grand Prix, leaving fans and pundits alike questioning his trajectory.

However, the introduction of a revamped floor and updated sidepod inlets from Haas at Silverstone proved to be a game-changer. Bearman achieved his best qualifying position of the season, landing in eighth place. Unfortunately, a 10-place grid penalty for neglecting red flags during practice meant he started from 18th, extending his points-less streak into Belgium. Yet, buoyed by the confidence boost from the upgrade, Bearman broke that streak in the Sprint at Spa-Francorchamps, finishing seventh.

The impact of the Haas upgrade on Bearman’s performance is undeniable. “I haven’t found my confidence until we brought the Silverstone upgrade to the car,” he revealed to the media, including Motorsport Week. “Since then, I’ve had a really good feeling, and I’ve been able to replicate that feeling – and that’s crazy.” His words underscore the thrill of finally feeling at one with his car, something that had eluded him in previous races where balance issues plagued his efforts.

Despite this newfound confidence, the 20-year-old driver has only managed to accumulate a mere eight points this season, the lowest among any points-scoring driver, leaving him languishing in 19th place in the Drivers’ Standings. However, Bearman remains undeterred and is optimistic about building on the momentum gained from Silverstone as F1 heads into the summer break and towards the Dutch Grand Prix.

“I hope we can replicate the feeling that I’ve had in the previous two races,” Bearman stated, acknowledging the potential for a points surge. He pointed out shortcomings in both qualifying and race strategies, stating, “In both qualifying and in the race, there’s been a few shortcomings from both sides: Silverstone I had a penalty, Spa we simply missed out on opportunities.”

Nevertheless, Bearman firmly believes in the car’s pace and the potential it holds. “Clearly, the car has pace, so there is a lot of potential there. Step by step, we’re going to improve and get better,” he declared, setting the stage for an exciting second half of the season.

As the F1 calendar heads to Zandvoort, a track Bearman last raced on during his Formula 2 days with PREMA Racing, all eyes will be on him to see if he can harness this extraordinary confidence and translate it into points. The roar of the engines awaits, and with it, the promise of thrilling races ahead!
