Oliver Bearman returns to the Haas race car at the Formula 1 São Paulo Grand Prix, substituting for Kevin Magnussen. It is currently unclear whether he will participate in the races at Interlagos.

A note from the stewards grants permission for the British driver to take part in the sessions of this round ‘until further notice,’ following a request from Haas. As expected, Bearman’s car will have the same components that were allocated to Magnussen – engine, gearbox, and tyres.

Haas has explained the reasons for this last-minute change: Magnussen is facing unspecified health issues and will miss at least Friday in Interlagos.

Next year, Bearman will make his full-time debut in F1 with the American team. This season, he has already participated in the Saudi Arabian GP with Ferrari, finishing seventh, before substituting for Magnussen at the Azerbaijan GP and finishing tenth. In Baku, the Dane was suspended for reaching 12 penalty points on his super license.

With these results, the young Brit became the first driver ever to score points in his first two races in the top category with different teams.
