After several years at Toyota, Nasser Al-Attiyah will have a new project at Dakar 2024. The winner of the last two years will represent Prodrive, competing in Nasser Racing with navigator Mathieu Baumel. Sébastien Loeb remains in the project for the designated Bahrain Raid Xtrem structure, with navigator Fabian Lurquin.
This weekend, Al-Attiyah will make his debut driving the Prodrive Hunter T1+ during the Baja Portalegre 500, and then have his first experience in the desert with the Dubai International Baja from November 10 to 12. As for Loeb, he has been in the project since its inception in 2021, finishing second in the Dakar in 2022 and 2023.
David Richards, president of Prodrive, reacted to Al-Attiyah’s arrival: ‘Having Nasser and Mathieu, the current Rally-Raid world champions, join us for the 2024 season in the Prodrive Hunter is great news. We look forward to working with both of them as we work hard for the Dakar in January. Nasser’s successes speak for themselves, and with so many titles won, I am confident that the duo will perform strongly in the Hunter’.
