After Charles Leclerc with Ferrari, it was Lando Norris’ turn to renew with McLaren in a long-term contract in Formula 1. The current agreement extended until the end of 2025, with only the knowledge that it was renewed beyond that year in the long term. His teammate Oscar Piastri was confirmed until 2026 last September.
At 24 years old, the British driver – a rookie in 2019 – has already competed in over 100 Grand Prix races. He has achieved 13 podium finishes, one pole position, and six fastest laps, and has come close to winning on several occasions. Norris has been actively involved in McLaren’s recovery process, aiming to return to fighting for top positions.
So far, the #4 driver has been on an upward trajectory – last year he had his best campaign with 205 points and seven of his 13 podium finishes, ultimately finishing sixth in the Drivers’ Championship. Thus, he matched his best final ranking.
