Off-Season Shenanigans: Freddie Kraft’s Wife Hits Her Limit, Dale Jr.’s Gift-Giving Saga Continues

The NASCAR off-season might be a breather for drivers, but for crew members like spotters, the downtime can be a bit too quiet—and even test the patience of their loved ones. Bubba Wallace’s spotter, Freddie Kraft, has hilariously taken to social media to reveal how his wife, Megan, has had enough of him hanging around the house, sparking a wave of lighthearted banter with NASCAR legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.

Freddie Kraft: “Isn’t There Somewhere You Can Go?”

Freddie Kraft, whose job demands precision and focus during the NASCAR season, finds himself with a lot more free time now that the 2024 season has ended. But while he might enjoy the downtime, his wife Megan seems to think he’s overstaying his welcome. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Kraft shared, “We’ve officially reached the point in the offseason where Megan Kraft says, ‘Is there not somewhere you can go today?’”

The post went viral among the NASCAR community, with fans and insiders alike chiming in. Dale Earnhardt Jr. couldn’t resist jumping into the conversation, cheekily claiming that his wife, Amy Earnhardt, has never uttered such a phrase. “Amy never says that,” Jr. wrote. But Kraft wasn’t convinced, humorously responding with a GIF of Will Ferrell as Ron Burgundy declaring, “I don’t believe you.”

Freddie Hits the Road—Literally

Taking his wife’s advice to heart, Kraft decided to head out. Sharing a photo from his car with the caption, “Happy wife, happy life,” Kraft poked fun at the situation and added, “Just for the record, the (expletive) forgot to reset my oil light last time. I’ve got 2400 miles to go.”

Dale Jr., always ready to stir the pot, responded, “Not a problem if you know how to change your own oil.” But Kraft, who once worked at a car repair shop, wasn’t having it. “Worked here for too many years. If I ever get a forearm covered in oil again, it’ll be too soon,” he quipped, posting a photo of the repair shop he used to work at, Fastube.

Amy Earnhardt vs. Dale Jr.’s Gift-Giving Woes

While Kraft might be scoring points with his wife by leaving the house, Dale Jr. is in hot water with Amy as Christmas approaches. Amy, appearing on a recent episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, pulled back the curtain on Jr.’s less-than-stellar gift-giving track record.

When Jr. asked what she wanted for Christmas, Amy kept it simple: “Jewelry.” But Jr. admitted that gift shopping for his wife is his “arch-nemesis,” as he often goes rogue, choosing items he thinks she’ll like. One infamous Christmas saw Jr. gift Amy a… charcuterie board.

Amy didn’t hold back her disappointment. “That comes back to paying attention. Like, I would never order that. Have you not seen what’s in the kitchen? Do I serve that [expletive] to you? No,” she said. Jr.’s defense? “I scour the web and find something I like. And she will like it.” Apparently, that logic doesn’t always hold up.

Will Dale Jr. Redeem Himself?

With Christmas looming, Jr.’s gift-giving skills are under scrutiny. Can he recover from the charcuterie board debacle and surprise Amy with something she truly loves? Or will he find himself in the same spot as Freddie Kraft—on the road and out of the house?

One thing’s for sure: NASCAR’s off-season might be a break from the track, but it’s full throttle when it comes to family hilarity. Whether it’s Freddie Kraft dodging domestic burnout or Dale Jr. trying to crack the code on holiday gifting, fans are here for every laugh along the way. What’s your bet—will Jr. ace Christmas, or should Freddie save him a seat in the car?
