Sergio Perez, from Mexico, competed in the Miami Grand Prix on May 4, 2024, as part of the Formula 1 World Championship. The Red Bull Formula 1 RB20 car had a dominant start to the 2024 season, but designer Adrian Newey expressed some dissatisfaction with a specific aspect of the car. Despite winning most of the races since the beginning of last season, Red Bull suffered two defeats in the first six races of this season, including the recent Miami Grand Prix. The team made significant modifications to their car during the winter, but Newey admitted there is a characteristic he is not satisfied with in the RB20. He mentioned that there is still room for improvement and they will continue to look for ways to enhance the car before the major rule change in 2026. Despite Newey’s slight disappointment, Red Bull currently holds a comfortable lead in the Constructors’ Championship, with a 52-point margin over Ferrari. However, they are keeping an eye on McLaren, which showed strong performance in Miami with a significant upgrade package. Red Bull team principal Christian Horner acknowledged McLaren’s pace but questioned whether it would translate to other circuits. Ferrari is currently sandwiched between Red Bull and McLaren in the standings and plans to introduce substantial upgrades at the next race in Imola.
