Wider by twelve centimeters, carbon aerodynamic-enhancement components and high-tech wheels of size 12.5Jx22 on the rear axle
Hybrid drive with system output increased to 638 kW / 868 hp
N-LARGO – that is the label of a spectacular widebody version for the Ferrari 296 GTB now presented by NOVITEC, the world’s leading automotive refinement specialist for the sportscars from Maranello. The high-powered car will be built in a limited edition of just 15 vehicles. The NOVITEC bodywork upgrade, which was created by designer Vittorio Strosek, impresses with its thrilling combination of striking styling and aerodynamic efficiency. It is produced from lightweight yet high-strength carbon. The N-LARGO fenders add six centimeters to the width of the coupe at the front and indeed 12 centimeters at the rear axle.
The matching high-tech wheels were tailor-made in cooperation with the American specialist Vossen. These custom variants of the NOVITEC NF11 NL rims are mounted in a staggered 21-inch and 22-inch combination on the front and rear axle and highlight the wedge shape of the sportscar. Further dynamic features are a lowered suspension and the NOVITEC performance upgrade to 638 kW / 868 hp. By customer request NOVITEC will also tailor the cockpit to the personal wishes of the vehicle owner in every detail.
208 centimeters wide: With this impressive measurement the NOVITEC N-LARGO body, whose components are produced from lightweight yet high-strength carbon, tops a stock Ferrari 296 GTB by exactly 12 centimeters at the rear axle.
The new quarter panels, for which precise-fit inner fenders were produced, provide space for the NOVITEC NF11 NL wheels custom-developed by Vossen for the N-LARGO. They are manufactured using cutting-edge forging technology and CNC machining processes. The widebody version accommodates rims of size 12.5Jx22 with an extremely concave wheel spider and five intricate twin spokes that extend all the way to the outer rim. They carry high-performance tires of size 335/25 ZR 22.
To give the car also a wider stance at the front and emphasize the hourglass shape of the sportscar to boot, the front fenders are replaced with tailor-made N-LARGO fenders that add six centimeters to the width of the two-seater at the front axle. Under the new wheel arches turn wheels of size 9.5Jx21 with 255/30 ZR 21 tires.
The design specifications for the front and rear flares did not focus solely on fascinating looks, however. The tops of the front fenders feature three integrated gill-like slits that help to vent the air heated by the brakes from the wheel wells as quickly as possible. They and many other components are also available with an exposed-carbon finish as on the vehicle pictured here.
The new flares at the rear axle have larger ventilation openings for the engine bay and larger air ducts for the brakes. The N-LARGO rocker panels ensure a smooth airflow between the wider front and rear fenders. Further exciting features on the sides of the hybrid sportscar are the NOVITEC exposed-carbon side mirrors.
The thrilling face of the high-powered, mid-engine car is characterized by the N-LARGO front fascia. It not only seamlessly connects to the wider front fenders, it also increases the handling stability at high speeds in concert with the exposed-carbon front lip spoiler. Another special NOVITEC feature is the custom trunk lid with integrated air ducts that use the airflow to generate additional front-axle downforce.
NOVITEC upgrades the rear with a diffuser and the N-LARGO exposed-carbon rear wing. Customers can also opt for an exposed-carbon cover for the retractable production rear wing or a NOVITEC ducktail spoiler in place of the N-LARGO wing. Exposed-carbon paneling for the engine bay completes the racing look.
In order to round off the striking appearance of the N-LARGO and further enhance the dynamic handling, NOVITEC lowers the ride height of the vehicle by 35 millimeters by means of special sport springs. Steep ramps such as in parking garages or speed bumps on the road are easier to master with the optional front lift system. The hydraulic height adjustment raises the front axle by about 40 millimeters at the touch of a button. The front reverts to the normal position at another touch of the button or automatically at 80 km/h.
High-flow turbo inlets, 100-cell metal catalysts and a NOVITEC high-performance exhaust system, available in various specifications, jointly ensure the combustion engine’s optimized gas exchange. These modifications increase the system output of the sportscar by 38 horsepower to 638 kW / 868 hp.
The exhaust systems tailor-made for the twin-turbo V6 can be identified by the two NOVITEC tailpipes with a diameter of 102 millimeters. They are integrated into the rear end by way of a custom wire mesh insert, which also helps to vent the heated air from the engine bay faster. The tailpipes are available in various versions and optionally come with a carbon ring.
The NOVITEC exhausts are manufactured from stainless steel or from especially light INCONEL, a high-tech alloy also used in Formula 1 racing. All sports exhaust systems enthrall with a rousing exhaust note, which can be individually adjusted from the cockpit with the version featuring actively controlled butterfly valves.
All exhaust systems are wrapped in high-temperature insulation to optimize the heat management in the engine bay. This effect can be amplified further for the INCONEL version with 999 fine gold plating, which also stands out visually.
Of course, NOVITEC also offers all N-LARGO owners the possibility to equip their dream car with exclusive interior appointments tailored precisely to their very own wishes. In any color and any desired upholstery design.
