Lando Norris Slams Max Verstappen for “Destroying His Race” with Reckless Driving

In a shocking turn of events at the recent race, McLaren driver Lando Norris has openly criticized his rival, Max Verstappen, accusing him of being “not very intelligent” and causing chaos on the track that ultimately ruined Norris’s race.

Norris expressed his frustration, stating, “If I hadn’t backed out of the collision, he would have sent me violently into the barriers. Max can do whatever he wants, but by driving like that yesterday, he ruined his own race. He didn’t race smartly.” The McLaren driver believed that both he and Verstappen could have finished first and second if not for Verstappen’s reckless maneuvers.

Team principal Andrea Stella also weighed in, highlighting that in hindsight, Norris should not have attempted the risky move on Verstappen at Turn 2. This move resulted in Norris running off track and dropping to fourth place, allowing Oscar Piastri to take the lead.

Despite his best efforts to recover, Norris found himself with a significant gap to make up on Piastri after finally overtaking Verstappen. “The road ahead was still long, I think there were about 25 or 30 laps to go,” Norris commented on the challenging situation. “I probably stopped pushing only in the last 4-5 laps. The gap went from almost 10 seconds to four or three, almost. I did everything I could. I tried to catch Piastri throughout the race, practically until the end. I kept believing, but Oscar is driving well. He’s fast. Recovering 10 seconds was practically impossible, I almost did it.”

The intense rivalry between Norris and Verstappen seems to have reached a boiling point, with Norris not holding back in his criticism of the Red Bull driver’s aggressive racing tactics. As the competition heats up on the track, fans can expect more drama and intense battles between these two fierce competitors in the races to come.
