Nissan has confirmed the launch of a fully electric version of the Juke for Europe in 2027, but has also decided to keep the combustion engine model, reflecting the current uncertainty in the demand for electric vehicles.
Adjusted strategy in response to the market
Initially, the plan was to completely replace the combustion Juke with an electric version. However, the slower evolution of electric vehicle sales led the brand to reconsider this decision, opting for a coexistence of both versions.
Bold design inspired by a futuristic concept
The new electric Juke will be based on the Hyper Punk concept presented in 2024, maintaining a bold visual language.
The model features angular lines and well-defined surfaces, creating a distinct and unconventional presence in the segment.
Platform shared with the Leaf
The Juke EV will be produced at the Sunderland factory in the United Kingdom, using the CMF-EV platform of the Renault-Nissan alliance.
This architecture is shared with the Nissan Leaf, which should result in similar technical solutions.
Expected range and engine
Although official data has not yet been released, it is likely that the model will use:
- batteries of 52 kWh and 75.1 kWh
- range of up to about 622 km (WLTP)
The version is expected to be equipped with a single motor and front-wheel drive, similar to the Leaf, with power close to 215 hp.

Sportier behavior
Despite the common technical base, Nissan promises a more dynamic and sporty behavior in the Juke, maintaining the model's identity as a more emotional and distinctive proposal within the range.
Two models, two distinct audiences
The brand believes that, despite the technical similarities, the Juke and the Leaf will attract different audiences, with the former focused on design and personality.
Production focused in Europe
The new electric Juke will be an exclusive model for the European market, reinforcing Nissan's regional strategy.
A balance between innovation and prudence
With this decision, Nissan demonstrates a pragmatic approach, balancing the investment in electrification with the reality of the current market.
The Juke EV thus emerges as an important step in the brand's energy transition, but without completely abandoning traditional engines.
