Nio saw its electric vehicle battery swap services surge during the Chinese New Year holiday, which was celebrated on January 29.
During a travel season across China to mark the occasion, the company recorded a record 136,720 battery swap services in a single day, according to Nio Power, the brand’s energy unit, in a statement.

The note also mentions that on January 25, three days before the start of the Chinese New Year holiday, the brand recorded 119,848 battery swap services.
Additionally, between January 22 and February 5, Nio provided 1,716,746 battery swap services, a 44% increase compared to the previous year. It is worth noting that in China, the battery swap service is the preferred method for drivers of Nio models to recharge their electric vehicles.
The company operates 3,107 battery swap stations in China, of which 964 are located along highways. The brand also noted that the average time users took to place an order, wait in line, and complete the battery swap service during the Chinese New Year festivities was just 9 minutes and 16 seconds, which is 11.89% faster compared to the previous year.

It is worth noting that in Europe, Nio has battery swap stations in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, and Belgium.
