In the new Formula E season, there will be a new name in the team lineup. NIO 333 has changed its name to ERT Formula E Team, following the entry of new investors, and its image has also changed. What remains are the previously announced drivers, Dan Ticktum and Sérgio Sette Câmara.
According to the official championship website, the base remains in Silverstone, with ERT wanting to commercialize its technology and intellectual property in addition to applying the track learnings to its road products. Furthermore, it aims to support the industry in finding new sustainable transport solutions.
Alex Hui, team principal, stated: ‘As the only factory Formula E team currently not linked to a manufacturer, our powertrain and software development has been done independently, putting us in a unique position. Using what we have learned on track, we have already identified that we have a lot to offer in terms of improving the performance of electric vehicles, not only in terms of powertrains but also in vehicle engineering support and solutions, something that is proving interesting within the automotive and motorsport industries. It is a natural progression for us to move forward in commercializing this knowledge with the growing global adoption of electric vehicles, particularly as Formula E offers such a strong platform for manufacturers, and as such, our conversations with partners in this area are already advanced’.
