As Lewis Hamilton bids farewell to Mercedes after a record-breaking 12-year stint, his former teammate Nico Rosberg has come forward to heap praise on the seven-time world champion. Speaking after the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which marked Hamilton’s final race for the Brackley-based outfit, Rosberg reflected on the monumental impact Hamilton has had on the team and the sport.

“When you get a talent like Lewis in the team, it carries the whole team,” Rosberg said. “He is such an inspiration and motivation for everybody, and it attracts further talent to join the team because the driver is so special.”

Rosberg, who famously won the 2016 World Championship in a fierce battle against Hamilton, acknowledged the Brit’s unparalleled ability to elevate those around him. He highlighted Hamilton’s role in transforming Mercedes from midfield contenders into the most dominant team in F1 history.

Hamilton’s Legacy at Mercedes: A Decade of Dominance

Hamilton joined Mercedes in 2013 when the team was far from the powerhouse it would become. Over the course of 12 years, he amassed an extraordinary six drivers’ titles and eight constructors’ championships with the team. The partnership with Mercedes is widely regarded as one of the most successful in the history of motorsport.

“Lewis joining Mercedes when the team was ‘nowhere’ and helping it achieve unparalleled success speaks volumes about his talent and leadership,” Rosberg added.

Farewell Tour and PETRONAS Tribute

As part of his emotional farewell, Hamilton recently visited PETRONAS headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The trip was a heartfelt celebration of the partnership between Mercedes and its long-time technical partner.

“To be part of a partnership between our team and PETRONAS that has been so successful, one of the greatest in the history of the sport, is something I am so proud of,” Hamilton said during the visit. “These 12 years are something I will never forget, and, through the highs and the lows, it has always felt that we are a family.”

Looking Ahead: Hamilton at Ferrari

The next chapter for Hamilton begins in 2025 as he dons Ferrari red, joining the historic Scuderia in a quest to claim his record-breaking eighth drivers’ championship. The move has already generated massive excitement among Ferrari’s passionate fanbase, the Tifosi.

“The craze among the Tifosi is huge for the Brit’s upcoming arrival,” a Ferrari insider commented. “The streets of Maranello are going to be chock-a-block when Hamilton steps into the Ferrari factory.”

Hamilton will team up with Carlos Leclerc at Ferrari, a pairing that promises to be one of the most compelling narratives of the 2025 season.

The End of an Era

As Hamilton’s chapter at Mercedes comes to a close, his legacy as one of the greatest drivers in F1 history is cemented. With his former rival Rosberg acknowledging the impact of his presence and leadership, Hamilton’s move to Ferrari marks not just the end of an era but the beginning of another potentially legendary chapter.

For the Tifosi, the arrival of Hamilton represents hope. For Hamilton, it’s a chance to rewrite the history books. And for Formula 1, the 2025 season promises drama, passion, and intrigue on an unprecedented scale.
