Nico Hulkenberg, a name synonymous with perseverance and talent in Formula 1, finally clinched his first podium at the 2025 British Grand Prix, leaving the world in awe of his remarkable achievement. Sauber driver Gabriel Bortoleto, in an exclusive interview with Total-Motorsport.com, expressed his belief that Hulkenberg should have been contending for F1 world championships all along.

After 15 long years and 239 races, Hulkenberg shattered the record for the most Grand Prix starts without a top-three finish with a spectacular drive from 19th to third place at Silverstone. Despite a risky strategy that saw him crash out of the race, Bortoleto praised Hulkenberg’s skill and determination, emphasizing that he deserved this momentous success.

Bortoleto, a rising star in F1, shared his excitement about his debut at the prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed, where he had the opportunity to showcase his talent behind the wheel of the 2013 Sauber C32. Amidst the historical backdrop of the event, Bortoleto marveled at the legends of the sport and the iconic cars that graced the festivities, highlighting the surreal experience of mingling with his idols.

While Bortoleto’s own race at the British Grand Prix ended in disappointment, his admiration for Hulkenberg’s breakthrough podium was evident. As Sauber continues to make strides with upgrades and a renewed competitive spirit, both drivers are poised for a promising future in F1.

The 2025 British Grand Prix will be etched in history as the race that crowned Hulkenberg’s resilience and skill, setting the stage for a thrilling season ahead. With Bortoleto’s star on the rise and Hulkenberg’s triumphant moment, the F1 world is brimming with anticipation for the battles yet to come on the track.
