Despite Audi officially entering Formula 1 in 2026, in partnership with the current Stake F1 Team, speculation about drivers has already begun. One of the names being mentioned is Nico Hülkenberg, who returned to the grid last year with Haas.
His contract ends at the end of this year and it is not excluded that he could move to Hinwil as early as 2025. The German has not completely ruled out this possibility, depending on what the upcoming season at Haas holds.
In an interview with Auto Motor und Sport, Hülkenberg stated: ‘Only time will tell. Let’s see how the next season goes. Do I have a competitive car? Which people are recommended for which tasks? I can’t answer with confidence right now. We probably have to position ourselves a little differently internally so that the same thing doesn’t happen again’.
Last year, Haas was one of the least competitive teams in the grid, and for #27, there were several factors contributing to this, from the budget to the human resources, to the size of the structure.
