The truth is, the NFL is driven solely by one thing: money.
It’s no secret that the league would love to have T-Swift and her beau grace the Super Bowl stage. But why? The answer is simple – money. And that’s also why we see constant cutaways of the Mahomes-Kelce family suite. After all, what’s the point of having the world’s biggest pop star attending games if you’re not going to show her off?
Media giants Fox and NBC, despite their opposing ideologies, have shamelessly capitalized on this partnership, just like Disney+ did with the Marvel catalog. And who can blame them? To not show Swift at least a dozen times would be seen as communist sympathizing. This is America, where we love football just as much as we love our famous faces. And when the two worlds collide, like when Tony Romo dated Jessica Simpson, it’s a win-win for everyone involved.
But let’s not forget the real story here. Patrick Mahomes, the heir apparent to Tom Brady, leading the Chiefs to their fourth Super Bowl in five years, and Kansas City’s formidable defense. The playoffs may have seemed fair, but I’m here to tell you they were rigged! That forced fumble by L’Jarius Sneed against Baltimore? It was all a farce. Zay Flowers intentionally dropped the ball and then put on an Oscar-worthy performance sulking on the sidelines.
Biden activated Travis Jones, much like Reggie Jackson in Naked Gun, to clothesline Mahomes. And it’s no secret that NFL referees have been deliberately inept for as long as the left has criticized the league for its stance on kneeling and head injuries. Roger Goodell and his group of extremely conservative owners are currently facing a lawsuit for discriminatory hiring practices. Yet, when it comes to the direction of the country, they align themselves with Trump.
If you want to see where the real power lies in the league, just take a look at the NFL owners who donated to Donald Trump. A quick Google search will reveal a roster of old, white men who turned a blind eye to racist and xenophobic rhetoric in support of Agent Orange. Yes, it seems that the world is conspiring against a man who would do anything for another term in the Oval Office, even sacrificing his own sons.
And let’s not forget about Aaron Rodgers, the notorious anti-vaxxer and human troll personified. Despite hobbling around in a walking boot, he received just as much screen time as T-Swift during primetime New York Jets games. Why? It all comes down to money, popularity, and anything that can attract and retain viewers. If Goodell thought a snuff film at halftime would generate revenue, you can bet he’d show it.
It’s funny how people complain about unapologetic capitalism when it’s not in their favor. But I’m a realist, and I know that the NFL would never continue shows of solidarity after KANSAS CITY FANS BOOED A MOMENT OF SILENCE FOR EQUALITY during their season opener in 2020. Let that sink in. The same people who jeered their star QB for standing up against racism are now letting Taylor Swift hold their babies. Loyalty, it seems, is a fickle thing.
So, in the end, the only conspiracy at play here is how easily brainwashed MAGA lovers are. But even then, the answer is simple – just study Germany in the lead-up to World War II.
