Newey reveals when he will make next move in F1 career.

Both Aston Martin and Ferrari are reportedly vying for the attention of Adrian Newey, the outgoing Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull. Newey has revealed that he intends to make a decision on his future in Formula 1 by the end of this winter. Red Bull confirmed two months ago that Newey expressed his desire to step away from his role after nearly 20 years with the team. As the most celebrated designer in F1 history, with 25 championships to his name, Newey has hinted that he plans to continue his career in the sport beyond his time at Red Bull. Rumors have circulated about Newey potentially joining Ferrari, with suggestions of a verbal agreement for a “Super Consultant” role. However, Aston Martin is also known to be pursuing Newey, and there have been reports of him visiting their headquarters at Silverstone. When asked for an update, Newey stated that he is still undecided about his next move and that Aston Martin is seeking an answer from him this week. Aston Martin boss Mike Krack has remained tight-lipped about the potential signing, but he did express his flattery at being mentioned alongside Ferrari in connection with Newey. Lance Stroll, the son of Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll, expressed his enthusiasm for the potential acquisition, describing Newey as the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) and someone that all teams would love to have on their side. Aston Martin showed promise as Red Bull’s closest competitor in the early stages of last season, but their performance declined as the development race intensified. This season, their struggles have continued, with updates to their car not producing the expected improvements and making it more challenging to drive. However, Aston Martin is actively working behind the scenes to transform into a championship-contending team and has recently announced the appointment of Andy Cowell, former Mercedes boss, as CEO starting in October. Additionally, there have been reports in the Italian media that Lawrence Stroll has successfully recruited Enrico Cardile, Ferrari’s Technical Director, to join Aston Martin.
