As the most celebrated designer in F1 history, with 25 championships to his name, Newey has hinted that he plans to continue his career in the sport beyond his time at Red Bull. However, Aston Martin is also known to be pursuing Newey, and there have been reports of him visiting their headquarters at Silverstone. When asked for an update, Newey stated that he is still undecided about his next move and that Aston Martin is seeking an answer from him this week. Aston Martin boss Mike Krack has remained tight-lipped about the potential signing, but he did express his flattery at being mentioned alongside Ferrari in connection with Newey. Lance Stroll, the son of Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll, expressed his enthusiasm for the potential acquisition, describing Newey as the “GOAT” (Greatest of All Time) and someone that all teams would love to have on their side. Aston Martin showed promise as Red Bull’s closest competitor in the early stages of last season, but their performance declined as the development race intensified.
