Notwithstanding that the Chinese company Nio has also invested in large charging parks (it has 27,258 chargers in the domestic market, which carried out 826,527 charging sessions between October 1 and 8, about 85% of which were performed by cars from other brands), Nio was a pioneer in the development and installation of a network for quick battery swaps for its 100% electric vehicles. Now, it has just announced a new record for quick battery swaps carried out in a single day: on October 1 (China’s National Day, and the beginning of a festive period that lasted for a week), there were no less than 145,955 quick battery swaps at its 3,520 stations, distributed across more than 1,000 highways.
According to the Chinese manufacturer, during the so-called Golden Week, there were 1,097,985 quick battery swaps, an increase of 37% compared to the same period in 2025. The most sought-after stations were those on the G15 highway, which connects Shanghai to Shenyang, where the 59 facilities available there managed to carry out more than 3,000 daily operations.
