The Panamera debuted in the Porsche lineup in 2009. Almost a decade and a half later, and after producing over 385,000 units at the Leipzig factory in Germany, the brand presents the third generation of the sports sedan, which is very different from its predecessor, both technically and visually. The launch of the G3, the model’s internal designation, is immediate, but deliveries to customers are planned for March or April 2024. In the lineup, there are three versions, all gasoline-powered, two with 3.0-liter V6 biturbo engines, and one with a powertrain that combines a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo with a plug-in hybrid system.
The V6 engines have 353 hp and 520 Nm (5.1 seconds in 0-100 km/h, a top speed of 270 km/h, an 8-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission), and can be equipped with rear-wheel drive (starting at €134,341) or all-wheel drive (starting at €141,118). In the plug-in hybrid, with an electric motor of 140 kW (490 hp)/450 Nm integrated into the PDK transmission module, and powered by a 25.9 kWh lithium-ion battery, it has a combined output of 680 hp and 930 Nm, and an electric driving mode capable of 90 km – which represents a 70% improvement in range compared to the previous generation, which had a smaller capacity battery (17.9 kWh) and was only capable of 53 km of 100% electric driving. The onboard charger has 11 kW, allowing for a 100% charge in 2 hours and 39 minutes.
For the V8 PHEV, available starting at €206,824, the brand claims 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a top speed of 315 km/h. In this top version, the debut of the Porsche Active Ride chassis control system – compared to the new version of the PASM mounted on the two V6 models, it provides more comfort and better driving dynamics.
