After his debut in Chile, Grégoire Munster is once again with M-Sport Ford in the top class of the World Rally Championship (WRC) at the Central Europe Rally. Therefore, he can continue the learning process and strive to do better than 13th place.

The Luxembourg driver mentioned that there were lessons from the previous event, although he is uncertain if he can apply them to all situations in the upcoming weekend: ‘The main thing we learned in Chile was the hybrid characteristics of the car, when to use them and in which situations. We also understood the aerodynamics and got used to the position on the road, as we started earlier than the Rally2 cars. I’m not sure if I will be able to bring that experience to this asphalt race, because the starting position will be different again’.

Facing an unknown surface with the Rally1, Munster sought to prepare by playing with the car’s tuning to gather more ideas for the rally: ‘Everything feels different on asphalt because you have more traction, but in the test, we tried to get used to the car on the surface and experimented with some configuration. The car obviously has a good foundation and gives you a lot of confidence to start with, but it’s useful to have a few more ideas in case the conditions change during the rally, so we know which direction we can go with the setup’.
