The current generation of the Opel Zafira now includes new diesel options, enhancing the appeal of this family MPV. Based on the newly developed 2.2 Diesel engine, the model is now available in 150 hp (370 Nm) with a six-speed manual transmission, or 180 hp (400 Nm) with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Both achieve a top speed of 185 km/h, with 0-100 km/h completed in 10.6 seconds for the more powerful variant.
The 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine complies with the Euro 6ebis standard and utilizes next-generation direct injection technology, along with an optimized exhaust gas recirculation system, for greater efficiency and lower emissions compared to previous generations of diesel engines in this category. This has allowed for a reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions of up to 13%, according to Opel.
