Mercedes-AMG has announced that it has started sales in the national market of the top-of-the-range variant, the GT 63 SE Performance Coupé, which comes with 816 hp of power and a maximum torque of up to 1420 Nm.
With a starting price of €248,650, the AMG sports car uses a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine that delivers 612 hp between 5750 and 6500 rpm, and a torque of 850 Nm between 2500 and 4500 rpm, which combines with an electric motor installed on the rear axle that adds an additional 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque, and features a limited-slip differential and a two-speed gearbox.
All power is transmitted to the AMG Performance 4Matic+ all-wheel drive system by a nine-speed AMG Speedshift MCT 9G gearbox. The electric motor is powered by an AMG High Performance battery with a capacity of just 6.1 kWh, which can be charged through the 3.7 kW onboard charger. It was developed based on the technology used in the Mercedes F1 team’s single-seaters, allowing for an electric-only range of 13 km.As everything works together in this hybrid plug-in, the Affalterbach house announces that the GT 63 SE Performance Coupé is the fastest production model of all time, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds, which is 0.1 seconds faster than the AMG One. However, the maximum speed is 320 km/h, 32 km/h less than the F1-inspired hypercar.
The Mercedes-AMG GT 63 SE Performance Coupé comes standard with a multitude of systems designed to provide excellent performance, including the AMG Active Ride Control suspension with semi-active roll stabilization and rear-axle steering, as well as eight driving modes: “Electric”, “Battery Hold”, “Comfort”, “Slippery”, “Sport”, “Sport+”, “RACE”, and “Individual”, which the driver can access through AMG Dynamic Select.
To brake this powerful GT 63 SE Performance, the carbon-ceramic discs, included as standard, have a diameter of 420 mm with six-piston calipers at the front, and a diameter of 380 mm with single-piston calipers at the rear, “hidden” behind 20” wheels with a 10-spoke design.
Inside, the highlights are the AMG sports seats with electric adjustment, three massage programs, and many customization options through the Manufaktur program.
Also noteworthy is the MBUX infotainment system, with a series of graphics specific to this version that allow real-time visualization of the energy flows from the combustion and electric motors.
