VW revealed on Wednesday an image of the new generation of the Transporter, which will be presented in September at the Hanover Motor Show in Germany.
The most popular commercial vehicle from the German brand adopts a short front section and a sloping windshield, along with characteristic lines that extend from the hood to the sides, with the addition of the cover of the charging port for plug-in hybrid and fully electric models, located under the right headlight.
The newly revealed images show the new generation of the Transporter with a front end featuring a large grille and redesigned headlights, in line with the ID. Buzz and the Multivan.
VW Commercial Vehicles has already announced that the new generation of the Transporter will measure 5.05 meters in length, longer than the ID.Buzz and the Multivan, and will have a rear end with LED redesigned taillights in a C shape, inspired by the T5 variant produced between 2003 and 2015, along with horizontal lines that extend along the rear door to emphasize the width.
The seventh generation of the popular VW commercial vehicle will be, once again, available with rear door and side doors. Although completely redesigned and technically renewed.
“As always with a VW commercial vehicle, there is not a line that is not logical. The horizontal lines below the rear window and above the handle strip are a good example of this, framing the VW logo and extending to the rear lights with millimeter precision.” , emphasized Albert Kirzinger, director of design at VW Commercial Vehicles.
Although the specifications of the new generation of the Transporter will only be disclosed closer to the presentation in Hanover, the brand has already announced that the VW commercial vehicle will feature 16, 17, and 19” rims, with the latter being the largest alloy wheels ever offered in Transporter history.
