The second generation of the VW T-Roc is expected to arrive at the end of this year, and the first images of the new model, which will be produced at the Autoeuropa factory in Portugal, have now appeared on social media.
The new compact crossover from VW, based on the MQB Evo platform, features new elements already seen in the Tiguan, such as the headlights, which, however, seem to have a more conical shape and are connected by a LED light bar. The front section is also characterized by a generously sized grille with hexagonal cutouts and air intakes.
From the profile view, the notable change is the removal of the pronounced crease that ran along the top of the doors of the first generation of the model, as well as the use of few curved creases on the side panels. A C-pillar of similar thickness to that of the current T-Roc has been maintained, and the rear window is also tapered.
At the rear section, the new features include new taillights that are connected by a light bar that spans the entire tailgate, as well as a redesigned bumper.
So far, VW has not revealed details about the new generation of the T-Roc, a model that has consistently been one of the best-selling in Europe, and which in 2024 was the second best-selling VW model in the world, only behind the Tiguan in overall numbers.
What seems certain is that the new generation of the compact crossover will likely offer a range of engines similar to those found in other compact VW models, such as the Golf, including several hybrid options. Additionally, there should also be a performance version, the T-Roc R, probably equipped with the same 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine found in the Golf R.
