Porsche is preparing a new model that is expected to hit the market in 2027, and for now goes by the name K1, which was ‘caught’ at the start of testing.
The new images, revealed by “AutoCar,” show the new electric SUV in dynamic tests, giving an early indication of its size and shape.
The model with three rows of seats has a height similar to the Cayenne, although it reveals a flatter roofline and a more upright rear, along with a longer wheelbase and a lower driving height.
Without much camouflage, typical of test models, this K1 has a look similar to the new Porsche Macan Electric, particularly in terms of the LED headlights and rear light bar.
Porsche has already announced that the K1 will be a model over five meters in length ready to offer “a completely new interior experience,” as well as “strong performance” and automated driving.
In addition, the model will have an off-road driving mode that will take advantage of the pneumatic suspension with various adjustment levels.
The Ki will also be the first Porsche to use the VW Group’s SSP Sport platform, which will allow for higher performance than the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) that supports the electric Macan.
This new Porsche electric vehicle is expected to be equipped with a more recent evolution of the synchronous electric motor, as well as a high-performance battery and fast charging technology, supported by a 920V electrical system.
The production of the K1 is scheduled to take place alongside the electric Macan at the Porsche factory in Leipzig, Germany.
