Lamborghini’s upcoming supercar, the Temerario, is generating a lot of buzz, even though its name has not been officially confirmed. Speculation is based on a trademark filing from earlier this year that suggests the Italian automaker has secured the rights to this moniker. With the successor to the Huracan just around the corner, it’s easy to see why many believe that the new model will carry the Temerario name.
One thing we do know about the Lamborghini Temerario is its impressive power output. Stephan Winkelmann, the company’s CEO, recently announced that the supercar will have over 900 metric horsepower, equivalent to 887+ brake horsepower and 662+ kW. Winkelmann also revealed that the Temerario will feature a twin-turbo V8 engine with three electric motors, referred to as the 634 codename.
The Temerario marks the end of an era for Lamborghini, as it will no longer be powered by the iconic 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine that has been a staple of the Huracan lineup. Instead, the Italian automaker has opted for a V8 engine. It remains unclear whether this engine is exclusive to the Temerario or if it has been sourced from the Volkswagen Group, but with some modifications.
The Temerario has been the subject of numerous spy shots and renderings in recent months. While most of the prototypes have been covered in camouflage, digital artists have used their imagination to envision what the supercar might look like without the disguise. The renderings from Kolesa, known for their attention to detail, provide a realistic interpretation of the Temerario’s design.
These renderings highlight the key features of the Temerario, including its distinctive headlamps, daytime running lights, front and rear bumpers, side intakes, muscular wheel arches, central-mounted exhaust pipe, and diffuser. Based on these images, the Temerario appears to have a sleek and toned-down design, although some may argue that the outgoing Huracan is more visually appealing. Ultimately, the decision to purchase the Temerario will depend on individual preferences and budgetary considerations.
