In a stunning turn of events, Natasha Cloud, the star player for the Washington Mystics and a 2019 WNBA champion, is set to make a major career move. After spending eight successful years with the Mystics, Cloud has decided to join the Phoenix Mercury. This news, which was first reported by Khristina Williams of Girls Talk Sports TV, comes at a time when the Mystics are looking to shake things up and make significant changes to their roster.

The deal between Cloud and the Mercury is a two-year protected contract worth $200,000 per year, according to Howard Megdal of The Next Hoops. Megdal praised Cloud’s hard work and noted that she has consistently improved her game throughout her career. Cloud’s addition to the Mercury is a significant acquisition for the team, which missed the playoffs last season for the first time in nearly a decade. She will join the ranks of Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi, two other standout players, and together they will strive to bring the Mercury back to their former glory.

Cloud’s impressive performance last season, where she achieved career highs in points, assists, and rebounds per game, solidifies her status as one of the top players in free agency. She averaged an impressive 12.7 points, 6.2 assists, and 3.7 rebounds per game during her time with the Mystics, as reported by Sean Leahy of Yahoo Sports. Her all-around talent and defensive skills make her a valuable asset to any team, and the Mercury are fortunate to have her on board.

With Cloud’s arrival, the Mercury are poised to rebuild and regain their status as a top contender in the league. Cloud’s signing is a testament to her skills and the impact she can make on a team, and it is a move that will surely shake up the WNBA.
