NASCAR Scandal: Brad Keselowski and RFK Racing in Hot Water as Catastrophes Pile Up

Fans of RFK Racing are on edge as the team faces one setback after another, leaving supporters anxious about the future of Brad Keselowski and his crew. The latest blow came after a post-race inspection revealed violations that led to significant penalties for the team.

The trouble started when Ryan Preece’s impressive P2 finish at Talladega Superspeedway was tarnished by the discovery of unapproved shims in the rear spoiler of the No. 60 Ford during inspection, resulting in disqualification and a massive loss of points. The disappointment was palpable not only for Preece but for the entire RFK Racing organization.

Just when they thought things couldn’t get worse, the storm continued to brew for RFK Racing at the Kansas race weekend. The No. 17 Ford driven by Chris Buescher was found to have breached a rule regarding the fastening of the front bumper during a post-race inspection. NASCAR wasted no time in meting out punishment, docking the team 60 points, suspending crew chief Scott Graves, and imposing a hefty fine of $75,000.

Brad Moran, Managing Director of NASCAR Cup Series, shed light on the violation, explaining that the No. 17 car exceeded the permitted area bonded into the nose piece. This ruling sent Buescher plummeting in the standings from 12th to 24th, casting a shadow over the team’s playoff aspirations. Even if Buescher manages to secure a playoff spot, he faces the additional setback of being docked 5 playoff points, putting him at a disadvantage from the get-go.

In a bid to contain the fallout, RFK Racing announced the immediate suspension of crew chief Scott Graves, with Doug Randolph stepping in for upcoming activities. The team’s woes were compounded when the No. 6 Ford, driven by Brad Keselowski, crashed out late in the race, squandering a shot at victory and compounding the team’s misfortunes.

Fans are left grappling with the team’s downward spiral, with playoff hopes hanging by a thread. The penalties have not only raised concerns among supporters but have also sparked speculation about the team’s ability to stage a comeback amidst mounting challenges.

As the pressure mounts on RFK Racing, the spotlight now shifts to Ryan Preece as a beacon of hope for the team’s playoff aspirations. With a solid track record and promising performances, Preece emerges as a potential savior for RFK Racing in their quest for redemption.

Despite the setbacks, the 2025 season leaves room for redemption under NASCAR’s “win and you’re in” rule, offering a glimmer of hope for Keselowski and his team to turn the tide in the remaining races of the regular season.
