The NASCAR: Full Speed series ranked among the top 10 most-watched series in the first few weeks. The 2023 Chicago Street Race was part of NASCAR’s silly season in 2024, during which NASCAR achieved an impressive marketing feat by launching a documentary series on Netflix. Titled “NASCAR: Full Speed,” the series premiered on January 31 and quickly gained popularity with a record number of views in its first week.

Comprised of six episodes, the documentary series showcased various NASCAR drivers and their experiences. Notably, JGR veteran Hamlin stood out as the star of the show, as his willingness to be open with the Netflix team led to the development of several captivating stories. According to reports from the Sports Business Journal, NASCAR invested $5 million to bring this series to life.

The investment proved to be worth it, as racing fans got an authentic glimpse into the lives of their favorite drivers. The producer dedicated significant time and effort to ensure that the series felt authentic, and the final results reflect that commitment. Moments such as Byron’s logo obsession and memorable catchphrases from 23XI Racing team boss Bopttie Bakers became highlights of the 2024 edition of the series.

For new fans who discovered NASCAR through the series, the start of the 2024 season exceeded their expectations. The main character, Hamlin, emerged victorious in the first race of the year in Los Angeles. Both the Daytona 500 and the second race in Atlanta featured thrilling finishes, clean races, and impactful accidents, just as portrayed in the show.

These exciting events left fans eagerly anticipating the upcoming races. The audience for both the Daytona 500 and the race in Atlanta surpassed last year’s numbers, impressing NASCAR. The organization hopes that this positive trend continues, providing race fans with the entertainment they seek.

After the two Superspeedway events, NASCAR fans have now turned their attention to the Cup race in Las Vegas. This race will give Netflix viewers a genuine understanding of how NASCAR operates on regular tracks. It remains to be seen how the race will unfold and what the audience numbers will be.
