NASCAR expert analisa como o desempenho de William Byron está inspirando Chase Elliott a voltar aos trilhos.

Chase Elliott confident in victory in the 2024 season

The Next-Gen debut started strong for Chase Elliott and William Byron, as both had an impressive performance. Chase Elliott won the 2022 regular season championship, but lost the title in the playoffs. Unfortunately, his hopes of continuing to dominate his teammate in 2023 were interrupted due to a snowboarding accident that left him sidelined for six weeks. Since then, the No. 9 Chevy team has struggled to regain momentum.

While Chase Elliott faces difficulties, his teammate William Byron has been dominating the scene. Together, they won a total of 10 races last season, with Byron leading with six wins. They have maintained this form in the 2024 season, with four wins in the first eight races (Byron with 3 wins). This puts them in a good position for another potential entry into the championship-4.

According to a pit reporter from Fox Sports, who is also the first African American in NASCAR, Elliott is personally motivated by his teammate’s dominance. He believes this will inspire the 2020 NASCAR Cup champion to overcome his poor form and start winning races again. Elliott’s third place finish in Martinsville last week may be a sign of his improvement.

“Chase really took it seriously and worked harder… when you see your teammates Kyle Larson and William Byron dominating, you take that kind of thing personally and it looks like so far Chase is taking that personally and is starting to get back to the point where he is clearly clicking,” said Josh Sims via PRN.

The former champion feels he has gained a positive boost since the end of the 2023 season and has carried it into the 2024 season. He believes this direction can lead them to success and finally to the long-awaited victory.

“I feel that throughout much of this season, we are heading in a very positive direction. If we continue to produce this, we will have our chance one day,” said Chase Elliott.

As they approach this weekend’s race in Texas, despite not being Elliott’s favorite track due to the reconfiguration, the HMS team remains hopeful for positive results. A consecutive top-five finish would provide the necessary momentum for Elliott to secure an important win, which would earn him a spot in the playoffs.
