NASCAR se pronuncia sobre polêmica vitória de Denny Hamlin em Richmond.

The NASCAR took a decision regarding the possible early start of Denny Hamlin during the race in Richmond. Hamlin emerged victorious in the NASCAR Cup Series race in Richmond, triumphing over his teammate Martin Truex Jr., who led for over 200 laps. However, the legitimacy of Hamlin’s win with his Toyota Camry No:11 was questioned after evidence suggested a possible jump on the final restart. NASCAR promptly decided to investigate the situation.

NASCAR’s Vice President of Competition, Elton Sawyer, addressed the controversy surrounding Denny Hamlin’s alleged jump, acknowledging the concern it caused among fans. Sawyer confirmed that the start was deemed fair after a thorough review by NASCAR, finding no grounds for a penalty. Despite the belief of many fans and experts that a jump occurred, NASCAR determined it was within acceptable limits and chose to reward Hamlin with the win to avoid further criticism. Given Hamlin’s status as one of the most unpopular drivers on the grid, it is unlikely that the online drama surrounding this decision will dissipate anytime soon.

Another Joe Gibbs Racing driver, Martin Truex Jr., had a tumultuous finish to his race in Richmond. He expressed disappointment in Denny Hamlin’s actions, accusing him of pushing him off the track to take the lead and benefit from a jump start. However, Truex Jr. remains optimistic and assures fans that he will come back stronger in the next race in Martinsville. Securing a win in the race will be crucial for him to keep his championship aspirations alive.
